Moxibustion: is a traditional Chinese medicine treatment using moxa made from dried mugwort (Ai). It is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, especially along with acupuncture. In Chinese language, acupuncture is called Zhen Jiu, in which Zhen means needles and Jiu means the moxa. There are many different ways to apply moxa, such as using cigar-shaped moxa stick directly pointed to the treated area, using moxa fluff to wrap on the acupuncture needles, or directly on the skin over salt or ginger.

Moxibustion is most often used to warm the local area and promote the circulation. It is widely used in treating muscular-skeletal pain and gynaecological disorders. An unusual but useful application of moxibustion is to help turning breech babies!
